Democratic Education in Humanities and Social Science

Democratic Education_
Below I have included two American schools as exemplars of democratic education which encompasses the kinds of values that engage students in the SOSE classroom e.g., participatory, affective, problem-posing, researching, relational, democratic, activism and so on. Accessing these school websites will provide insight into what happens in real schools and classrooms by real teachers.

Go to the link A year at Mission Hill where you will see 10 short video clips on a range of topics.

Deborah Meier on education
The founding principal is Deborah Meier, a leading light in progressive democratic education. She also has a website/blog if you are looking for ideas, resources, inspiration and links.
